Getting started
ReCult is the Local Action Network — a live look at what’s happening around you right now, and a place to add your own. This page gets you from “just installed” to “first post” in a few minutes.
ReCult is in beta. Some areas may show a Coming soon label. Those features aren’t live yet — everything else on this site works today.
Get the app
- Open ReCult. Launch the ReCult app on your phone, or open it in your browser. If you were invited, tap the link in your invite to jump straight in.
- Join or sign in. New here? Enter your name, email, and city to request access. Already have an account? Sign in with your email.
- Confirm you’re in. Once your access is active, you’ll land on Pulse — the home for everything happening near you.
ReCult is global — set your location anywhere in the world. Access is rolling out during beta, so if you’re on a waitlist, you’ll get a note when it’s your turn.
Set where “local” is
ReCult is built around your area, so the first thing worth doing is telling it where you are. This keeps Pulse full of things that actually matter to you.
- Allow location (optional). If you allow location access, ReCult can show what’s Nearby automatically. You can always skip this and pick your area by hand.
- Pick your city. Choose your primary location from the list. This is the default place your Pulse and posts are tied to.
- Add more areas if you like. Add more than one place — for example your neighborhood and the city you work in.
You can change your areas any time from the location picker.
Create your first post
Posting on ReCult is quick. You’re putting up one local thing — an event, something for sale, a service, or a heads-up for your area.
- Tap Post. It’s in the bottom bar, in the center.
- Pick a category. Choose what your post is (for example Events & Shows, Food & Drink, or For Sale), then a subcategory.
- Add the details. Give it a clear title, a short caption, the location, and a date or time if it applies.
- Add a photo or video. Posts with a photo or clip get noticed. This step is optional but recommended.
- Post it. Tap Post. It appears on Pulse for people in that area.

Learn the words
ReCult uses its own simple language. Here’s all you need to start:
- Pulse — where you see what your local community is signaling right now.
- Beep — how you amplify a local signal. It tells your area “people around here should know about this.” A Beep is not a Like.
- Loop — tap Loop on a post to get into that person’s or business’s information loop. Their posts then reach you faster — think “keep me in the loop.”
- Nearby — a quick, secondary view to check for important local posts without changing your Pulse.
- Studio — the built-in editor for polishing a photo or video before you post.
